Browser-based PDF encryption is not supported.

True PDF password protection requires AES encryption, which cannot be safely performed in the browser. For real protection, use a desktop application such as Adobe Acrobat, LibreOffice Draw, or Microsoft Word (Save As → PDF → Encrypt).

We removed the previous in-browser flow because it embedded the password as plaintext metadata without actually encrypting the file — that gave a false sense of security.
